From Sarjudas to Sahajanand
On the auspicious day of Kartik Sood 11 of Vikram Samvat 1857, Ramanand Swami, whom Bhagwan Swaminarayan revered as his Guru, initiated Sarjudas (Bhagwan Swaminarayan) into the spiritual order of Sainthood in Piplana village and called Him as Narayan Muni, and Sahajanand Swami. (Age : 20 Years)
Guru Ramanand Swami adorns Bhagwan Swaminarayan as his Spiritual Successor
In the royal court of Shri Unnad Khachar in Jetpur on the day of Kartik Sood 11in Vikram Samvat 1858, Guru Ramanand Swami heralded the dawn of a new Spiritual era and declared Sahajanand Swami as his Spiritual successor. (Age : 21 Years)
Sahajanand Swami Prays Guru Ramanand swami to bestow Him with two boons
1 'May the devotees never face the deprivation of food and clothing in their life.'
2 'May the devotees be spared of any pain and agony which may instead come to me in their billion-fold intensity; but, may the devotees be saved from any pain and agony.
Two great boons bestowed upon His devotees by Bhagwan Swaminarayan
1 'I will be present beside my devotees when they breath their last to lead them to Akshardham.'
2 'I will exist for ever on this earth in the form of Saints who manifest Me.'
Genesis of "Swaminarayan" Mahamantra
On Magshara Vad 11, Vikram Samvat 1858 (Thursday, 31 December 1801 A.D.) Bhagwan Swaminarayan proclaimed the divine Mahamantra "SWAMINARAYANA" at Faneni Village in today's Rajkot District.
Three great volitions of Bhagwan Swaminarayan
1 Build high-summit temples.
2 Establish two Acharyas (chief religious administrators) for the smooth conduct of the affairs of the Sect.
3 Create Scriptures for propagating his spiritual vision and purify the system of worship.
Six Objectives of the Manifestation of Bhagwan Swaminarayan on this Earth
1 To propagate the supreme system of worship (Upasana) and spiritual knowledge.
2 To lead all the devotees of all kinds of faith to Akshardham by inculcating true system of worship in them and by enlightening them with spiritual knowledge.
3 To rescue Bhaktimata and Dharmadev from the cruelty and menace of the evil forces.
4 To revive and vitalize the hitherto imperilled religion with knowledge, renunciation and devotion
5 To bestow the sages doing penance with spiritual rewards and to fulfil the aspirations of the devotees with divine love towards God.
6 To establish Acharyas for the protection of the Saints embodying the true spirituality, the temples facilitating the eternal system of worship (Upasana), and the scriptures that propagate real spiritual knowledge and divine personality and actions of God. Also, to nurture an unhindered path to ultimate emancipation to Akshardham through the saints in divine association with God.
The physical body of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, seated in deep meditation in the posture of Swastik Aasan, bade farewell to this world on Jeth Sood 10, Vikram Samvat 1886 (Tuesday, June 1, 1830 A.D.) at noon in Akshar Ordi in the royal court of Dada Khachar in Gadhpur.
